AI Enablement for Marketing
Most AI projects fail on the data underneath, not the model.
You've been asked what your AI plan is. You don't have one yet.
The hard part is knowing what to trust them with on your specific setup. Which of your numbers hold up. Which of your workflows would survive being automated. Which parts of your stack are quietly wrong in ways nobody has noticed yet.
I’ve spent since 1999 finding exactly those things inside marketing teams. AI hasn’t changed the job. It’s made the cost of getting it wrong higher, and faster.
Three phases. You can stop after any of them.
Phase 1: AI Readiness Assessment
A full review across the five areas that decide whether marketing is measurable and whether it can be automated safely: measurement and tracking, data and reporting, technology and stack, ownership and accountability, and AI readiness.
Access to your platforms, short interviews with the people who use them, and a look at how a report actually gets built today rather than how it’s supposed to.
What you get:
- A written report, scored out of 100 across the five areas
- The single biggest gap named, with what it’s costing
- A roadmap where every fix carries an effort, a cost and a value
- A plain read on what you could safely automate today and what you couldn’t
- A sixty minute delivery meeting walking through it live
The report is yours. If you take the roadmap and run it in-house, that’s a legitimate outcome and it gets said out loud in the meeting.
Phase 2: Foundations
Fixing what the assessment found. Tracking architecture rebuilt at source, attribution made consistent, data flowing properly between the CRM, the ad platforms, finance and reporting.
This is the work I’ve been doing since long before it had an AI angle, and it stands on its own whether you go on to phase three or not.
What you get:
- Tracking and measurement rebuilt and documented
- One set of numbers everyone works from
- Reporting that survives a board-level question
- A written handover, so none of it depends on me still being here
Phase 3: Enablement
The AI work, built on foundations that can now carry it.
What you get:
- Workflows built and running, not a slide deck of use cases
- Tooling configured with proper access and guardrails
- Your marketing team trained on what these things are actually good at
- A written line on what should never be automated on your stack, and why
- Measurement on the automations themselves, so you know whether they’re working
Where this comes from
I build this way for my own business before I build it for anyone else’s.
The prospect research that lands in my inbox every weekday morning is an agent I specified and built: scored against a defined profile, with a quality floor, a deduplication window and hard limits on what it’s allowed to do. The Health Check on this site is a weighted scoring model with real logic behind it, not a quiz. The content system behind everything I publish runs from the same five areas the assessment scores.
None of that is a demo. It’s how the business actually runs, and it’s the same method I’d apply inside yours.
The foundations underneath it go back a lot further. Twenty-five years of tracking, attribution and data work across consumer finance, D2C retail, health and wellness and B2B SaaS. That’s the part most AI projects skip.
What it costs
Fixed fee. No day rate. No markup on anyone else’s time.
Phase 1: AI Readiness Assessment
|
Core Single site, up to five platforms, under £5m turnover |
£5,500 + VAT |
|
Standard Multi-platform, two or three brands, £5m to £15m |
£8,500 + VAT |
|
Complex Multi-entity, legacy systems, £15m and above |
£12,500 + VAT |
Phases 2 and 3 are quoted from the roadmap the assessment produces, typically £12,000 to £45,000 for foundations and £15,000 to £40,000 for enablement. Nobody can honestly price the unravelling before they’ve seen the mess, so you get real numbers against real findings rather than a guess up front.
The assessment fee is credited in full against phase two if you commit within sixty days, and committing to all three phases upfront brings the combined fee down by 10 percent.
Not sure which tier you are? The Health Check asks the three questions that decide it, or I’ll tell you in a Surgery in about five minutes.
Already know exactly where the problem is and don’t need the full picture? A focused assessment covers one area only, takes a week, and is £3,500 + VAT.
Who this suits
- Businesses between £1m and £25m turnover
- Founder-led, or with a marketing team of one to five
- Real money going into digital across two or more platforms
- Working with at least one external agency or developer
Who it doesn't
- Businesses looking for someone to run their ads or write their content
- Anyone who wants an AI strategy document and no build
- Anyone already certain what the problem is and just wanting a second opinion
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the data need fixing before we do anything with AI?
Because an automation built on numbers that don’t reconcile will produce confident answers that are wrong, faster than anyone can check them. The failure isn’t visible until it’s expensive. That’s why this starts with an assessment rather than a tool.
What if the assessment says we're not ready?
Then it says so, plainly, and tells you what has to be true first. That’s a useful answer, not a failed engagement. Most businesses need phase two before phase three makes any sense, and knowing that before you spend on tooling is the whole point.
Do we have to do all three phases?
No. The assessment can be bought on its own and plenty of businesses stop there and run the roadmap themselves. Nothing is bundled and nothing rolls on automatically.
What do you actually need from us?
Access to your platforms, roughly three hours of interviews across two or three people, and whatever reporting you use today. That’s it. The assessment is designed to take as little of your team’s time as possible.
Start with the five minute version
